Protect eyes and skin from harmful UV rays: protect your children!

Children's skin and eyes are very sensitive. They are therefore particularly vulnerable to UV rays. As they spend more time outdoors than adults, your children are more exposed to UV hazards than you. Over one year, a child is exposed on average to three times more UV than an adult.

Tips for children:

  • Avoid exposing them between 11 am and 3 pm, when the sun is at its zenith.
  • Cover them when outdoors: clothing + wide-brimmed hat + sunscreen + sunglasses with UV protection.
  • Children must be protected from harmful ultraviolet rays as soon as they are outdoors, not only when the sun is shining. Do not forget to protect the eyes and skin of your children every day.
  • You should avoid as much as possible to expose children under 3 years in the sun: their skin and eyes are particularly fragile.
  • Choose a broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. Give them cream regularly. For their eyes, make sure their glasses have the highest E-SPF rating (25 for clear lenses and 50+ for sunglasses).
  • Ask your pharmacist and eye care professional to make sure your children get the best UV protection possible every day.
