Tick bite

The summer period has many qualities to offer, but it also brings some disadvantages: insects and especially tick bites!

But precisely, how to recognize a tick bite? When the tick is still attached to the skin, and possibly full of blood, it is easy to identify the tick bite as such. But it often happens that the tick is already detached at the moment when one realizes the sting. In this case, one can easily confuse the bite with the bite of another insect like the mosquito.

Good to know: tick bites can in some cases cause itching, but this is not always the case.

Why worry in case of tick bite?

Most often, a tick bite has no serious consequences and does not require the intervention of a doctor. But the tick can transmit a virus or bacteria if it is infected. Thus, when one is in risk areas where the MEVE virus (verno-summer meningoencephalitis) or Lyme borreliosis is prevalent, it is necessary to take certain precautions and know how to react in the event of a tick bite.

Sting or tick bite?
A question that can indeed be asked: should we talk about "bite" or "bite" tick? In everyday language, we often speak of " tick bite ", just as we speak of "wasp sting" or "mosquito bite". But in reality, it is rather a " tick bite ": indeed, it is important to know that it is thanks to its oral device that the tick clings to our skin and then gorges our blood.
