Peeling

The peeling

From a simple glow of glow to the real anti-aging treatment, the peeling aims to "change the skin" without having recourse to surgery. By eliminating damaged skin layers ("to peel" in English means "peel"), it offers good results, but may require a healing phase more or less long.

What is a peel?

Whatever its intensity, the peeling aims to eliminate, more or less deep, the upper layers of the epidermis to reveal a brighter complexion, fade small brown spots, erase scars, or smooth wrinkles .. .

Its action will also stimulate the production of collagen, to replace the cells eliminated by others, all fresh, for a face visibly clarified and rejuvenated.

This treatment is not covered by health insurance.

How it works ?

The peeling technique involves applying a product to the face that will more or less "dissolve" the different layers of skin depending on its dosage and concentration.

Note: peeling is a matter of aesthetic medicine. It can only be practiced by a professional: an aesthetic doctor or a dermatologist.

> The superficial peel
As its name indicates, its action remains superficial. We also speak of gentle peeling. It most often uses fruit acids (glycolic acid type) and clarifies the complexion, tighten pores and eliminate minor imperfections on the surface.

It is indicated to treat the problems of acne for example.

> The average peel
A little more intense than the superficial peel, the average peel will act more deeply. Its abrasive action aims to erase brown spots, or to smooth the first wrinkles.

Often made with trichloroacetic acid (or TCA) more or less concentrated depending on the desired result, the average peel causes a sensation of heat, or even burning if one is very sensitive, in the face. An anesthetic cream can be applied before the session, and the peeling can be done gradually, in several times.

> The deep peel
We also talk about strong peels. It allows to act on the most marked wrinkles of the face, and intervenes on the production of collagen in depth for an intense cellular renewal. It can be done on a more or less extended part of the face. For some doctors, general anesthesia and hospitalization are necessary. For other doctors, this deep peel could be done without general anesthesia. Many practitioners use phenol.

The peel: The healing

It varies according to the intensity of the peel. Not very aggressive, a superficial peel will cause a slight phenomenon of desquamation. The skin of the face will therefore "peel" slightly - without creating any social embarrassment - and a soothing moisturizer is enough to counter this small inconvenience
