The neurologist

The neurologist is the specialist doctor of diseases of the nervous system. He can practice in a private practice, clinic or hospital. There are nearly 2, 000 neurologists in France.

Diseases supported

The neurologist deals with diseases of the central nervous system: the brain or the spinal cord, or diseases that affect the nerves and nerve endings.

The neurologist is the specialist of so-called degenerative neurological diseases, such as:

  • Alzheimer's disease
  • Parkinson's disease.
