Depression: avoid recurrence

Sadness, tiredness, insomnia, lack of appetite ... The symptoms of depression, you may know them, you have already experienced them. You had left, and now it starts again, it re-offends! It is classic: unfortunately, the risks of relapse of depression are frequent.

Depression often recurs when the orderly treatment is not followed correctly. It should be noted that even if one thinks of getting better, one should absolutely not stop prescription of antidepressants oneself without the advice of the doctor, at risk of relapse in the following weeks. Even if you think you are getting better, it is important to continue to treat yourself with or without medication.

In 50% of cases, the depression will relapse. In 2 out of 3 cases, there will be relapse after two previous episodes.

Psychotherapy and other behavioral therapies seem to be effective in preventing relapse. But as for drug treatment, their effectiveness will only be sustainable if the patient is very involved.

It is not necessary that the patient veils his face and thinks that depression is as inevitable: there are solutions to get rid of it and avoid relapse!
